Very Rare and wonderful, original 1924 Chromolithograph Halloween Postcard published by the Gibson Art Company of Cincinnati, Ohio.
This wonderful Postcard measures approx. 5 1/2” by 3 1/2” and has a divided back. It features a charming image of a young girl dressed in a clown costume being chased by a young boy wearing a ghost costume and carrying a Jack-O-Lantern on a pole. There are bats flying in the air and a black cat on a wall as well as another scary jack-o-lantern in the background. Text on the Postcard reads “Wishing You a Happy Halloween”. The Postcard carries the mark of the publisher on the reverse – Gibson Art Company of Cincinnati.
This wonderful 1920’s Halloween Postcard is unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. It is NOT a reprint, reproduction, reissue or modern printing but an original Postcard printed and distributed in the mid 1920’s. It carries our unconditional return privilege and lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
This rare and wonderful, 1920’s Gibson Art Co. Chromolithograph Halloween Postcard is in very good condition. It is postally used with message and address on the reverse and a machine postmark dated October 2, 1924. The Card has survived the USPS system quite well – the colors are bright and vibrant and the card is generally clean and crisp with a light scuff at the upper right hand corner and a very light water stain at the same corner. The corners are bumped and overall the Postcard is well preserved and displays nicely.
