Very Rare and wonderful, original 1911 Embossed Chromolithograph Halloween Postcard by Ellen Clapsaddle published by the International Art Publishing Co. of New York.
This wonderful Postcard measures approx. 3 1/2” by 5 1/2” and has an early divided back. It features a charming image of anthropomorphic heads of cabbage. Text on the Postcard reads “O, is my true love tall and grand? / O, is my sweetheart bonny?” and “Halloween” The Image is signed in the plate by the artist – Ellen Clapsaddle – and is copyright 1911 by the International Art Publishing Co.
This wonderful Clapsaddle Halloween Postcard is unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. It is NOT a reprint, reproduction, reissue or modern printing but an original Postcard printed and distributed ca1911. It carries our unconditional return privilege and lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
This rare and wonderful, 1911 Embossed Chromolithograph Halloween Postcard is in very good condition. It is not postally used but does have an address and a greeting on the reverse. The colors are bright and vibrant and the card is generally quite clean however there is a tiny ink mark in the lower border and a tiny tack hole at the center of the top edge of the image area. The corners are bumped but there are no other creases, tears, physical damage, repairs or wear. Overall the Postcard is well preserved and displays nicely.
